From a generation of florists with a total of nearly 60 years of experience in the business, Alan Prince (Sole Proprietor of Flowers of Worcester), opened his first flower shop at the tender age of 17 in Dudley in the West Midlands. Then, after gaining a wealth of experience in the business, it was in his late 20's that Alan eventually started Flowers of Worcester which has now been successfully serving the Worcestershire and surrounding community for over 17 years.
"The early years weren't easy", says Alan. "I remember starting out with very little except a loan from my father to buy a van and a burning desire to make a success of my business however, these were probably the most important years as they taught me so much about the business and what customers really wanted - that is, fresh, quality, long-lasting flowers at an affordable price."
Over a period of time, Mr Prince went on to open a total of twelve successful floral retail outlets and has since sold them on to focus on his large Worcester unit. Today, with a total of 28 years of experience in the industry under his belt, Alan Prince is proud to be the sole proprietor of probably Worcester's largest supplier of fresh cut flowers. Flowers are delivered directly from Holland three times a week and if stored, are kept in a climatically controlled storage facility to ensure only the best blooms ever reach the shop.
