The White Orchid Florist Surrey, founded in November 2002 by florist Nicole Liew, is an expression of her love of all things beautiful. Nicole began her career in fashion but her desire to explore other mediums of expression led her to the colourful world of floristry.
Following extensive training with Jane Packer, Nicole went on to develop her own signature floral style, combining colour, texture and scent which is reflected throughout the shop. ” The White Orchid” draws on inspiration from across the world, the arts, fashion and literature to create sumptuous bouquets and arrangements for events, weddings, funerals, corporate spaces and homes.
The online shop is a new addition to the gifting service, featuring a gallery of seasonal bouquets available to order for next-day delivery within London and the South-East. The theme of Romance was well executed with mainly roses and the theme of a Greek tragedy featuring the legendary romantic characters of Pyramus and This be. The floral installation which took months of preparation from planning to execution, was a 3-D interpretation of the painting Ask Me No Morea by the renowned painter Alma Tadema, received enthusiastic and positive interest from thousands of visitors who could not stop snapping away with their digital cameras.
These ladies are brilliant. They only commit to one event per day and spend time getting to know you and reaching a solution that works for you and your budget. I loved working with them. The day I entered the shop I briefed them with a picture of my dog walks and said ͞I would love you to recreate this, only with greenery... Like I’ve just run through the woods and picked up a bunch of fern and thistles!" They hit the brief completely. The flowers were one of my favourite things. We had huge falling centrepieces, combined with little vintage bottles I sourced from a market filled with stems. The bouquets were just gorgeous and I loved the smell of rosemary and eucalyptus following me around all day. I didn’t want to put it down!
