After working as a school Catering Manager, Clever Cake was started as a business in 2010 by Jo Exton. Jo also provides part-time support to a local Kenilworth Bakery with her icing skills. With over 25 years experience in cake decoration Clever Cake provides you with the X-factor in terms of quality and whether you are looking for something simply elegant or something more complex – nothing is too much trouble!
Jo was also instrumental in setting up the Tea Room at Kenilworth Castle on behalf of English Heritage
Clever Cake is a family business – as all members of the family have taken an interest in making the business work!
Jo’s husband John delivers and helps set up cakes at the venue, he also collects supplies and generally offers advice which is invaluable to the business.
Jo’s husband and son built a separate workshop kitchen for the business which has been passed by Environmental Health and Warwickshire District Council and received the highest Food & Hygiene rating of 5.
Jo’s daughter, Jenny, provides the beautiful helium balloon displays for many special occasions.
