I have always had a love to baking but I have developed a real passion for it. When I was asked to make a wedding cake for a friend I enrolled in sugarcraft lessons and I haven't looked back.
I realised that there was a frustrated artist inside me just waiting to come out! I love working with sugarpaste and learning clever techniques. I have even had one of my cakes in a Bridal magazine! I have actually given up my job as a Science teacher so that I can concentrate on my cakes and being a Mum.
The Cake Doctor name came about because of the kids I taught. They all called me Dr B and if they did really well in a test or the whole class got there coursework in on time then I made them a cake. One day someone said "you are a Cake Doctor, Miss", and it stuck.
My business has been running for a couple of years and has really taken off. As you can see if you check out my gallery, I will have a go at most things and I'm always up for a challenge. Although I wouldn't call myself an expert, I would say that I am a sugarcraft specialist and as such I am now teaching sugarcraft at night school. If you are interested in attending one of my sugarcraft courses please just let me know.
As a cake make and decorator, I specialise in wedding, birthday and celebration cakes but I am happy to cater for any event. I actually made a volcano cake for the Liverpool Geological Society, complete with fault lines!
All the cakes are handmade using free range eggs and high quality ingredients. I offer a variety of flavours and fillings including chocolate fudge and coffee as well as the traditional fruit cake. Cupcakes and brownies are also available upon request.
I would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the cake of your dreams!
