Now that I have my own family of 5 children, I've developed a great appreciation for homemade food and baking in particular. I love simple old fashioned cooking and I find my cake inspiration can be taken from anywhere, reading a cook book from the 1970s to the weird and wonderful creations of today.
The first celebration cake I made was for my own wedding back in 2004, and it turned out to be three tiers of white chocolate yumminess! Since then I haven't stopped, making all sorts of cakes for friends and family and moving onto muffins, loaves, cookies, pies...the list goes on.
Making treats for my children's school lunches helped me to develop my own recipes and ultimately inspired me to create Veggie Berry Bakery. My goal was to create treats which are exciting yet nutritious and so one day I decided to add fruit and vegetables to ordinary cake flavours. I found this to be a great chance to use up left over fruit and veg and also a unique way to replace some of the fat whilst putting a little of the recommended 5-a-day into each cake!
Our unique signature range of cake flavours offer something extra. They all contain either fresh fruit or vegetable ingredients and are made using well-sourced local produce.
