We are fortunate to have more freedom than we ever did in the past to choose how to celebrate our relationships.
There may be reasons why it might not be possible to marry in a church, but for many people it no longer feels necessary to “tie the knot” officially in either the presence of a priest or Registrar. They may, however, be looking for a way for their commitment to each other to be recognized in a memorable way in the presence of their loved ones. It is entirely possible to create the most unique and treasured experience, incorporating all your most deeply held beliefs and desires, in a special place of your choosing. In this way you will create a beautiful day in the company of those who love you, making memories that you will keep with you for the rest of your lives.
My role would be to help you to make decisions about the sort of occasion you have in mind, as a celebrant I cannot officially marry you; only a Registrar is authorized to do this. But I can act alongside the Registrar to conduct a bespoke service tailored to incorporate your personal beliefs, style and requirements. This can include readings, poems and music that are special to you, and making sure that the words that you say to each other completely reflect your own beliefs and hopes for your future life together as a couple.
