Cumbria Ceremonies is a family-run company based in the Furness area of Cumbria. Our aim is to provide memorable and meaningful ceremonies for everyone.
We specialise in funeral, wedding, civil partnership, renewal of vows and naming services and are dedicated to making them special and personal affairs for all involved.
Our services are conducted by Lesley Wood: a professional celebrant who trained with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants (in conjunction with the College of Celebrancy UK) and who is now registered to their body. Lesley was inspired to found Cumbria Ceremonies after attending the funeral of a friend outside the Cumbria area which was conducted by a local celebrant. Impressed by the calm, reassuring and sensitive handling of the service by the celebrant, and also the beautiful and memorable nature of the ceremony, Lesley saw that Cumbria had room for a celebrant of its own.
Cumbria Ceremonies is not affiliated to any particular secular, humanist or religious belief. Our only concern is for the freedom of choice for our clients when they wish to create a memorable service with us. The motto of celebrants is: "Your choice, your voice, your ceremony."
Lesley is assisted by her son Danny Lewthwaite who also shares her vision of making contemporary alternative ceremonies available to the local community.
