Designing is our passion and our inspirations are widespread: the subtle palette of the Impressionists, vintage fashion plates, silver screen movie stars and theatrical design not to mention our mothers who introduced us to the sewing machine. We feel that being bridal wear designers allows us to be more creative and imaginative.
We love understated glamour and like nothing more than a well cut dress with clean lines and romantic detailing. For us everything is in the detail. We’re very hands-on with every aspect—design, fit, sales and presentation. We really enjoy styling the photo shoots, working alongside the photographer, the hair stylist and the make-up artist until we’ve got the look we want.
While we love what we do, our business could never have worked so effectively if we weren’t such great friends. ‘LouLou’ (a combination of our middle names) was set up in 1991 and today, over twenty years later, we are still together despite the competing demands of a design partnership, friendship and motherhood.
We put this down to loyalty, quiet determination, a willingness to think positively, a shared sense of humour and a great deal of laughter along the way.
There have been many high points in the history of our company; as young girls setting out, seeing our dresses for the first time in a West End shop window, designing for celebrity weddings, collecting four bridal awards and dancing at the Roof Gardens with Richard Branson.
