Julie Dutton’s unique dresses are a response to each individual bride’s requirements.
In her home studio, based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire in the West Midlands, she has an extensive collection of bridal fabrics and can also offer a growing range of organic and ethical fabrics. The studio is full of interesting laces and heirloom textiles and you can view work in progress.
The design elements of her custom-made dresses can be inspired by vintage, film or historical costume but her emphasis is to create a contemporary gown which fits the client perfectly and reflects their personal style. Embellishment or beading can add the extra magic.
At the first free consultation Julie will listen to your ideas and requirements. Following this she with draught a proposal and draw a sketch where required. A bespoke dress can take up to six months to complete and there are usually three to four fittings. Brides can confirm their commission up to a year in advance. Each dress requires a toile which is a prototype of your design. The toile helps refine the style and fit.
