Mastermind behind this pastel Alice-esque style shoot, Louise from Louise Rose Couture says she took inspiration from the pure fun and feminism of the 50’s style.
Captured by photographer Berni Palumbo, this whimsical 1950’s wedding inspiration shoot began as an idea to showcase Louise Rose Couture’s delicate 50’s gowns for both brides and bridesmaids, and from there became a mood board, and eventually came to life with the help of fellow creatives who jumped aboard to make it all possible.
“We ended up with a fantastic team full of enthusiasm and talent! Each supplier really brought something to the shoot to create the whole vision,” says Berni.
“I did my best to capture the fresh nature and relaxed fun of all the elements. The venue, the Swan at Streatley, was the perfect background for our shoot with the beautiful garden and the cute little bridge on the river.
Our models’ energy and all the colourful details really brought back spring.”

Rania from The Custom Cake Boutique created a three-tiered pastel masterpiece that fit the theme, colour, and spirit of the shoot perfectly. “The cake combines stunning sugar roses alongside hand painted ones.”
The bridal makeup created by Anitka MUA complemented the pastel theme, and went perfectly with the whimsical 50’s dresses provided by Louise Rose Couture.
Cara from Ivory Rose Flowers created a heart-shaped bouquet for the bride. “She chose flowers like the frilly, peach lisianthus and memory lane roses with their gorgeous dusky tones to match the style of the shoot,” Berni says.
The bride’s retro bridal hair was created by Rachel Lisa Jones. “Rachel’s experience as a hair stylist and tutor of vintage hair styling was the perfect touch the complete the look,” Berni says.
Sophie from Peony & Rose lent a delicate romance to the shoot with her beautiful wedding stationery designs.
Cara from Ivory Rose continued the 50’s theme by creating a headpiece of loose, romantic flowers tying the entire vintage look together and adding extra romance to the day.
“Our bride is super elegant whilst also letting her fun-loving side shine through in her lace tea-length wedding dress,” says Louise from Louise Rose Couture.
