Congrats to Laura and Adie who’ve been crowned our January Wedding of the Month winners!
They are in the running for a second honeymoon to Italy’s ‘green heart’, Umbria.
There are plenty of creative ways to personalise your wedding day – and a “pudding garden” is just one this Glasgow couple designed.
Laura Devine and Adrian Laird were married at their Glasgow meets London wedding on April 23, 2016 with a relaxed ceremony at the Islington Town Hall in London, followed by a reception with 60 guests at Islington Metal Works. “Our day was personal to us down to the last detail and had tributes to our Scottish heritage as well as lots of London details as a homage to where we now call home,” explains the bride.
A highlight of the day was the pair’s “pudding garden”. “We weren’t keen on spending a fortune on wedding cake, so we asked all of our local friends to bring a homemade cake with them instead of a present, and this was our wedding cake,” smiles Laura. “It was a massive dessert buffet and it went down a treat with our guests.”
Guests were rewarded for their efforts with quirky favours. “Our place names were little flags stuck in Tunnocks Tea Cakes, and we also had mini bottle of Irn Bru on the tables as a homage to our heritage,” says Laura. “These had little tags around them designed by me, that said a charity donation had been made in the guest’s name to our chosen charities.”
