A wedding day is all about the bride and groom, Nicola Frost and Alex Brown took it a step further – turning their big day into a festival!
“We wanted our wedding to be a day of celebration – a fun and memorable occasion for all of our closest family and friends – so we created ‘Brostfest’, our very own festival,” Nicola, 33, says.
The couple were joined by 120 friends and family for their festival wedding on August 1, 2015 on the grounds of Warwickshire’s Talton House.
“The day began with a rustic humanist ceremony, held beneath two beautiful oak trees on the Talton House lawn, before our guests were led across to the festival field by Free to Roam, the first of our three live bands,” Nicola says.
“The field was filled with traditional Victorian summer fete games – including a coconut shy and high-striker – a white bouncy castle, giant festival signage, a well-stocked pavilion bar, and two giant teepees that hosted the wedding breakfast.”
As the night went on, even Alex, 32, got in on the music action, performing a set with a former bandmate.
“The night concluded with a singalong around the bonfire, while guests enjoyed wood-fired pizzas and toasted marshmallows,” Nicola says.

Nicola found her figure-hugging wedding dress in a small boutique in Abu Dhabi.
Alex popped the question while the pair were on a scuba diving trip. “The fact Alex proposed on a dive was particularly special, as I had struggled for years to become qualified, but he helped me overcome my fear,” Nicola says.
Home-made jams provided the perfect wedding favours.
“It was the biggest day of our lives and we made it so. Surrounded by the people that mean the most to us, we smiled from ear to ear from start to finish and squeezed every drop out of that day,” Nicola says.
“Free to Roam and The Folly Brothers led impromptu singalongs throughout the afternoon, while the Hackney Colliery Band and former Radio 1 DJ Si Foresterio kept the dancefloor moving well into the night,” Nicola says of the wedding entertainment.
