A restored Tudor building in the Buckinghamshire countryside was the ideal venue for Yasmin Mahmoud and Miran Shah’s autumn barn wedding.
The Wembley pair, both 28, chose The Tudor Barn, Burnham for their ceremony and reception celebrations on November 7, 2015. One hundred guests joined the happy couple for the ceremony, with 150 family and friends enjoying the reception celebrations.
“The wedding day was so much fun. It was an emotional day and there were tears but full of happiness,” Yasmin recalls.
The creative bride and groom did much of the planning and designing of the wedding themselves, from the invitations to the lolly bar and the home-made jam used as wedding favours.
But if you’re planning to do it yourself, allow plenty of time, Yasmin warns.
“Make sure any decorations and favours are done well in advance to avoid a pre-wedding meltdown,” she says.
“It feels like you have a lot of time before the wedding to sort things out but things keep coming up, so the more you can get done early the better.”
