A little rain never hurt anybody, and for Katie and Tom, it actually made for some awesome photographs with colourful umbrellas and a back-to-nature vibe.
“You can do all the planning in the world for your wedding but in Blighty, the weather’s going to do what it’s going to do,” says photographer, John Hope.
The Sheffield pair married on June 7, 2014 in Yorkshire with a woodland wedding theme where 120 guests got out of their comfort zones and right into the swing of glamping.
“We love the woods and wanted our wedding to last the weekend so people had more time to enjoy themselves and get to know each other. Everyone joined in the process and nobody refused to stay in the tents!” recalls Katie.
They decorated the venue with items collected by various people over time. “The main decoration was our flowers, and relying on the beautiful surroundings,” smiles Katie. And lucky for the lovebirds, there was a little sunshine after dinner to allow for final photos.

“The sight of the full contingent of guests trapesing through woodland trails under umbrellas to get to the ceremony was fantastic,” recalls John.
“I regularly speak with brides who are massively pinning their hopes on wall to wall sunshine but you know what, your day will be amazing whatever the weather,” says John.
For brides-to-be, Katie says take all the help you can get!
The bride and groom were last to bed at 5am the following day.
