Stylish, elegant, and tasteful are all words that can be used to describe the vintage garden wedding of Ami Saints and Gary Warren.
The vintage theme began early on for the Scotland-based couple, 31 and 30 respectively, when Gary presented Ami with a vintage opal ring when proposing. “We began planning our wedding with the theme of vintage garden,” says Ami. “Although it was to be abroad [in Spain], we wanted it to feel like it was home therefore made many of the decorative touches.”
Ami experienced some trouble finding the perfect wedding dress, making sure it fit their vintage theme. “I found wedding dress shopping frustrating,” she explains. “I knew I wanted something simple but beautiful, with some vintage details. I wanted to look like a bride but not too traditionally bridal.” She settled on an Anoushka G gown and had a £6 back necklace sewn on. As far as bargain hunting went, they were lucky. Ami also picked up braces in a vintage shop for £2 each.
Sixty guests joined the sporty pair (Ami is a sports coordinator and Gary, a footballer) at their destination wedding in Benahavis, Spain on June 7, 2014. “It was the most relaxed, beautiful and precious day of our lives,” smiles Ami. “Our relationship is strong and we have so much fun together.”

Ami made dry bouquets of lavender for her bridesmaids.
Friend, David Raven, provided the music for the ceremony. “He sung acoustic versions of two songs as we walked down the aisle,” explains Ami.
“I wanted a coloured shoe to match the hues of the colours throughout the wedding,” Ami says. “I saw these and thought they added a fun and quirky twist.”
Ami’s advice to other brides is to splash out on memories. “I wish I’d paid for a videographer,” she says.
